Internationally, the EX30 EV offers two battery configurations tailored to meet varying consumer needs:
  • 51 kWh Battery: Utilizing LFP (Lithium Iron Phosphate) chemistry cells, this option provides a commendable range of up to 344 kilometers. It’s ideal for urban commuting and daily driving.
  • 69 kWh Battery: Featuring NMC (Nickel Manganese Cobalt) cells, this battery variant extends the range to up to 480 kilometers on a single charge, making it suitable for longer journeys and weekend getaways.

Strategic Launch Plan

Martin Persson, Head of Volvo Cars for Asia Pacific, emphasized Volvo’s commitment to sustainability with a clear strategy to introduce one new BEV (Battery Electric Vehicle) annually. Following the EX30 EV, Volvo plans to bring the EX90 to India, underscoring its dedication to expanding its electric SUV offerings.

  • Single Motor Variant: Producing 200 kW (272 hp) of power, this variant accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in 5.7 seconds. It achieves a top speed of 180 km/h and offers a combined range of up to 480 kilometers.
  • Dual Motor Performance Variant: With dual motors delivering a combined power output of 315 kW (428 hp), this variant accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in just 3.6 seconds, highlighting Volvo’s commitment to performance-oriented electric vehicles.

Charging and Efficiency

The EX30 EV supports home charging with varying times depending on the battery configuration. Volvo’s emphasis on efficiency ensures that charging times are optimized for convenience without compromising on performance or battery life.
