Nissan X-Trail Design and Features

The India-spec Nissan X-Trail is built on the CMF-C platform, featuring a bold and upright design that sets it apart in the SUV segment. The vehicle showcases a contemporary aesthetic with its split-headlamp setup, enhancing visibility and style. The prominent V-Motion grille finished in dark chrome adds a touch of sophistication, while the rounded wheel arches with plastic cladding provide a rugged look and additional protection. The diamond-cut alloy wheels not only improve the vehicle’s appearance but also contribute to a smoother ride. Complementing these features are the sleek wraparound LED tail-lamps, which ensure better visibility and a modern look.
The X-Trail will be available in three color options: Diamond Black, Champagne Silver, and Pearl White. According to Alfonso Albaisa, Nissan’s Senior Vice President of Design, these colors were chosen to enhance the premium feel of the X-Trail, appealing to customers seeking a luxury SUV experience.

Nissan X-Trail Interior Highlights

The interior of the Nissan X-Trail is crafted to offer maximum comfort and convenience, featuring high-quality materials and advanced technologies. One of the standout features is the dual-pane panoramic sunroof, which floods the cabin with natural light and offers passengers an expansive view of the sky. Versatility is a key feature of the Nissan X-Trail’s interior. The second row of seats offers 40/20/40 split-folding, sliding, and reclining functions, allowing for various configurations to accommodate passengers and cargo. This flexibility ensures that the X-Trail can easily adapt to different needs, whether it’s carrying large items or providing extra legroom for passengers. Nissan X-Trail India-Spec Interior
The India-spec X-Trail includes a range of advanced features designed to enhance the driving experience and provide added convenience. The 360-degree camera system offers a comprehensive view of the vehicle’s surroundings, making parking and maneuvering in tight spaces easier and safer. Paddle shifters mounted on the steering wheel allow for manual control of gear shifts, providing a more engaging driving experience. The drive modes enable the driver to adjust the vehicle’s performance to suit different driving conditions, from city streets to rugged terrains. The electronic parking brake with auto-hold function adds to the convenience, allowing the driver to easily engage and disengage the parking brake without manual effort. Cruise control helps maintain a constant speed on highways, reducing driver fatigue during long trips.

Nissan X-Trail Safety Features

Safety is a priority in the new Nissan X-Trail, which comes equipped with a comprehensive suite of safety features. The seven airbags, including front, side, and curtain airbags, provide extensive protection for all occupants in the event of a collision. Automatic wipers ensure optimal visibility during rainy conditions, while ABS with EBD (Electronic Brakeforce Distribution) enhances braking performance and stability. Traction control helps prevent wheel spin during acceleration, particularly on slippery surfaces, ensuring better control and safety. The limited-slip differential improves traction by distributing power to the wheels with the most grip. Hill-start assist prevents the vehicle from rolling back on inclines, making it easier and safer to start from a standstill. Front parking sensors aid in detecting obstacles in front of the vehicle, reducing the risk of low-speed collisions while parking.

Nissan X-Trail Powertrain

Nissan X-Trail India-Spec Engine
The X-Trail for India will be powered by a 1.5-litre three-cylinder turbo-petrol engine, featuring a variable compression ratio and a 12V mild-hybrid system. This advanced powertrain setup produces 163 hp and 300 Nm of torque, providing a balance of power and efficiency. The variable compression ratio technology allows the engine to adjust its compression ratio in real-time, optimizing performance and fuel efficiency based on driving conditions. The mild-hybrid system provides additional torque during acceleration, improving responsiveness and reducing fuel consumption. The engine is paired with a shift-by-wire CVT automatic gearbox, which is designed to minimize the rubberband effect typical of CVTs, providing a smoother and more linear acceleration experience.
