Citroen Basalt Production Model Officially Revealed

Citroen Basalt Production-spec revealed
The production-spec of the Citroen Basalt has officially been revealed. This SUV coupe, based on Citroen’s C-cubed architecture, introduces a new silhouette while retaining design elements from the C3 and C3 Aircross. The Basalt Coupe is set to make a significant impact in the Indian automotive market.

Citroen Basalt Exterior and Interior

The Basalt is an SUV coupe featuring a distinctive sloping roofline and short overhangs. It boasts wide fenders, square wheel arches, and muscular proportions that enhance its sporty appeal. The rear design includes an integrated spoiler, a silver skid plate, and Citroen’s signature taillight design, adding to its aggressive stance.
Although Citroen has yet to release images of the front, it is expected to feature a clamshell bonnet, a silver skid plate, and Citroen’s X-Split DRLs with LED headlights. The color clips near the rear window and bonnet add a touch of sophistication. A dual-tone scheme, with a black roof option, further enhances the vehicle’s visual appeal. The new set of wheels is a notable upgrade from those on the C3 and C3 Aircross, providing a fresh and stylish look.

The Citroen Basalt’s interior features a beige color scheme, a digital cluster, a 10.25-inch infotainment display, and a climate control system. The cabin is designed for comfort, with armrests in both the front and rear, the latter also including dual cup holders.

Citroen Basalt Engine and Performance

The Basalt will likely be powered by the same 1.2-litre turbo-petrol engine found in the C3 and C3 Aircross. This engine produces 108bhp and 190Nm of torque, and it can be paired with either a five-speed manual or a six-speed automatic transmission. This powertrain ensures a balance of performance and efficiency, suitable for both city driving and highway cruising.
The Citroen Basalt enters a competitive segment, taking on rivals such as the Tata Curvv, Hyundai Creta, Kia Seltos, MG Astor, Maruti Grand Vitara, Toyota Hyryder, and Honda Elevate. Depending on its pricing, it could position itself alongside or just below the Tata Curvv, offering consumers another compelling option in the SUV coupe market.
