Tata Curvv Unofficial Bookings Open
Tata Motors is gearing up to introduce a groundbreaking addition to India’s SUV market with the Tata Curvv, slated for launch on August 7, 2024. This eagerly awaited model marks Tata’s foray into the SUV-coupe segment, promising a blend of futuristic design and advanced technology. Initially debuting as an electric vehicle (EV), the Curvv aims to set new standards in its class, with an ICE variant set to follow soon after.

Tata Curvv Exterior and Interior Design

Derived from the Nexon’s platform, the Tata Curvv showcases a distinctive coupe-like silhouette that exudes sportiness and sophistication. It features Tata’s signature split-LED headlamps, sleek gloss-black cladding along the sides, and a dynamic split tail-lamp setup. Notably, the Curvv will be 313mm longer than the Nexon, offering a more spacious cabin and a 62mm longer wheelbase for enhanced stability and comfort.
Inside, the Curvv promises a luxurious experience with a focus on modern aesthetics and functionality. Drivers can expect a four-spoke illuminated steering wheel borrowed from the Harrier and Safari models, complemented by a 10.25-inch digital instrument cluster and digital dials. The EV variant may introduce unique switchgear and additional features to distinguish it from its ICE counterpart. Key features include a wireless charger, 360-degree camera, ventilated seats, connected car technology, and a panoramic sunroof, catering to the needs of tech-savvy consumers.

Tata Curvv Powertrain Options

The Tata Curvv will be available in both petrol and diesel engine options. The petrol variant will be equipped with a new 125hp, 1.2-litre turbocharged engine paired with manual and automatic transmission choices. On the other hand, the diesel variant will inherit the reliable 1.5-litre four-cylinder engine from the Nexon series, ensuring robust performance and fuel efficiency.
Positioned as a flagship EV in Tata’s lineup, the Curvv EV will utilize Tata’s Gen 2 acti.ev architecture. While specific technical details are limited, it is expected to offer a competitive driving range of 450-500km on a single charge, making it suitable for long-distance travel without compromising on sustainability.

Tata Curvv Expected Price & Rivals

Tata Motors aims to position the Curvv competitively in the market. The EV variant is anticipated to launch with a starting price around Rs 20 lakh, targeting consumers seeking eco-friendly mobility solutions. In contrast, the ICE variant, expected to follow shortly after, may enter the market with a price range of Rs 10-11 lakh, catering to budget-conscious SUV enthusiasts.
In the burgeoning EV segment, the Tata Curvv will compete directly with models like the Hyundai Creta EV, Maruti eVX, and MG ZS EV, offering a compelling alternative with its unique design and robust performance. Meanwhile, the ICE variant will challenge established midsize SUVs such as the Kia Seltos and Hyundai Creta, promising versatility and innovation in a competitive market landscape.
