Next-gen Hyundai Venue and Grand i10 Nios: What to Expect?

Next-gen Hyundai Venue and Grand i10 Nios
Hyundai India is gearing up for an exciting future with a range of new models and significant updates to its existing lineup. Among the upcoming launches are the next-generation Hyundai Venue and the next-gen Hyundai Grand i10 Nios. These updates aim to solidify Hyundai’s stronghold in the Indian market by offering advanced features and enhanced performance.

Next-gen Hyundai Venue Due by Late 2025

The Hyundai Venue, first launched in 2019, has been a popular choice in the compact SUV segment. With a mid-life facelift introduced in June 2022, the Venue continues to attract attention. However, Hyundai is now preparing for the next-generation Venue, set to debut in late 2025.
The next-gen Venue, internally codenamed QU2i, will be the first model manufactured at Hyundai’s newly acquired Talegaon factory, previously owned by General Motors. Production is scheduled to start in October 2025.
The Venue is expected to continue with its current engine options, which include:
  • 1.2-litre naturally aspirated petrol
  • 1.0-litre turbo petrol
  • 1.5-litre diesel
Transmission options will likely include manual, iMT, CVT, and DCT. However, Hyundai might introduce tweaks to these specifications in the new-gen model.
The new Hyundai Venue is expected to be built on a new platform, addressing space constraints in the second row and improving overall safety. The design might take inspiration from Hyundai’s newer models, such as the Palisade and the updated Creta.
The next-gen Venue will likely see significant upgrades in its interior and features. Expected additions include a larger infotainment system (10 or 12 inches), a 360-degree camera, heads-up display, and ventilated seats. The interior design will be revamped, potentially featuring more soft-touch materials and a new dashboard layout. Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS) might also be upgraded to a radar-based system.
While specific details are scarce, the new Venue is expected to feature a completely new design, possibly inspired by the Hyundai Creta and the upcoming Alcazar. The platform and powertrain options are likely to be carried over, but with significant enhancements in features and technology. Notably, Hyundai plans to maintain its presence in the diesel segment, even for this compact SUV.

Next-gen Hyundai Grand i10 Nios Due by Late 2027

The Hyundai Grand i10 Nios, currently in its second generation since 2019, is set for a significant upgrade with the next-gen model arriving by late 2027. The hatchback segment has seen a decline, but Hyundai remains committed to keeping the Grand i10 Nios competitive.
Until the next-gen Grand i10 Nios arrives, Hyundai will introduce a series of small updates to keep the model fresh. These updates aim to maintain its competitiveness against rivals like the Maruti Suzuki Swift, which has recently seen a resurgence in popularity.
Hyundai is exploring the potential of electric versions of both the Grand i10 Nios and the Venue. While these projects are still in the exploration phase, the company is betting on the mass-market EV segment with the Inster-based EV, set to launch by late 2026.
