Discontinuation of Jaguar I-Pace in india
In a significant strategic move, Jaguar India has recently removed the Jaguar I-Pace from its official website, marking the end of an era for this pioneering electric SUV in the Indian luxury car market. This decision reflects Jaguar’s shift in focus amidst evolving consumer demands and its future plans for electric vehicles.
Launched in March 2021, the I-Pace entered the Indian market as the brand’s first all-electric SUV, positioned to compete with the Audi e-tron and Mercedes EQC in the premium segment. Despite its innovative design and robust performance, the I-Pace faced challenges in maintaining market momentum.

Reasons Behind Delisting of Jaguar I-Pace

The removal of the Jaguar I-Pace from Jaguar India’s official website follows the automaker’s global strategy to streamline its product offerings and prepare for a new generation of electric vehicles. With advancements in EV technology and evolving consumer preferences, Jaguar aims to realign its portfolio to better meet future demands.

Jaguar I-Pace Performance and Features

The I-Pace featured a powerful 90kWh battery pack combined with dual electric motors, delivering 400 HP and 696 Nm of torque. It boasted a commendable real-world range of approximately 410 km, showcasing its competitive edge in the luxury EV market.
Equipped with advanced features such as all-LED lighting, 19-inch alloy wheels, adaptive cruise control, and a Meridian sound system, the I-Pace exemplified Jaguar’s commitment to luxury and innovation. Its sleek design, including flush-fitting door handles and a powered tailgate, underscored its premium appeal.

Market Impact

Despite its initial promise, the I-Pace faced challenges in achieving substantial sales figures in India. In the fiscal year 2024, only 31 units were sold, highlighting its niche market presence compared to competitors like the BMW iX.
With the removal of the Jaguar I-Pace, Jaguar India’s lineup is now focused on the F-Pace SUV as its sole offering. This strategic shift signals Jaguar’s commitment to revitalizing its portfolio with upcoming electric vehicles slated for introduction starting in 2025.
