Mahindra XUV 3XO EV Production Begins in November 2024

Mahindra XUV 3XO EV Launching
Mahindra is gearing up to launch the all-electric Mahindra XUV 3XO EV by the end of this year. Internally codenamed S240, this new electric SUV will be positioned below the XUV400 EV and is set to enter series production by November. The Mahindra XUV 3XO EV is expected to bring competitive features and pricing to the market, aimed at taking on rivals like the Tata Nexon EV.

Key Features of the Mahindra XUV 3XO EV

Battery and Performance

The Mahindra XUV 3XO EV will be equipped with a 34.5kWh battery pack, similar to the lower-spec variants of the XUV400 EV. While specific details on the range and electric motor specifications are yet to be disclosed, it is anticipated to deliver reliable performance for urban and suburban commutes.

Design and Styling

The XUV 3XO EV is expected to mirror the dimensions of its internal combustion engine (ICE) counterpart, the XUV 3XO. While the overall design will follow the facelifted SUV’s aesthetic, it will include some EV-specific styling cues to distinguish it from the ICE variant. The interior will largely carry forward the equipment and features from the standard XUV 3XO, ensuring a familiar and comfortable experience for users.

Production Targets

Mahindra has set a modest monthly production target of around 1,500 to 1,800 units for the XUV 3XO EV. This cautious approach is likely due to the slow uptake of EVs in the market, as evidenced by the lukewarm sales of the XUV400 EV despite several updates. In total, Mahindra plans to produce approximately 12,000 units of the XUV 3XO across all its fuel types, including petrol, diesel, and electric.

Mahindra XUV 3XO EV Price and Launch Date

Mahindra aims to price the XUV 3XO EV more aggressively than the XUV400 EV, with expected prices ranging from Rs 15 lakh to Rs 17 lakh. This pricing strategy positions the XUV 3XO EV as a more affordable option, potentially enhancing its appeal to a broader market segment. By offering a more competitive price point, Mahindra hopes to boost its market share in the burgeoning electric vehicle sector.
The Mahindra XUV 3XO EV is poised to make a significant impact in the electric vehicle market with its competitive pricing, robust features, and strategic positioning. As production begins in November and the launch date approaches at the end of this year, anticipation is building for this new addition to Mahindra’s EV lineup.
